When creators add recipes, they often use more specific ingredient descriptions to make the cooking process clearer - for example, specifying “diced potatoes” instead of just “potatoes”.
However, when it comes to shopping, this can create unnecessary duplicates. I don’t want my shopping list to separate items just because one recipe says “diced potato” and another says “potato”, since they are essentially the same ingredient.
It would be a great improvement if the already implemented AI could recognize similar ingredient names and automatically standardize them into a common format. This would keep shopping lists cleaner while still allowing recipes to have detailed ingredient descriptions.
